Week 1 Activity Research Paper Proposal

Week 1 Activity Research Paper Proposal

Q 1. Students should turn in a one-page proposal for the research paper by the end of this unit. 2. The one-page proposal should include the subject or passage selected for the research paper, along with 3-5 questions about the subject/passage that the paper will seek to answer. 3. When preparing this assignment, follow these guidelines: A. Students can choose between treating a theme or a passage in the Book of Acts. If a theme is chosen, multiple passages will be treated in the paper in order to display the breadth of the theme. If a passage is chosen, a student can focus purely on the single passage and how it contributes to the overall presentation of Acts. If a student does not have ample experience writing research papers, it is suggested that a passage be chosen, rather than a theme. B. Any passage from the Book of Acts may be chosen as a topic for the research paper, subject to approval by the professor. C. If a theme is preferred, suggested subjects are: the Holy Spirit, baptism, leadership, speaking in tongues, evangelism, women, or preaching. 4. Proposal is due by the end of the unit

The passage Acts 17:1-15 has been selected for the research paper by me to find out the contribution of this passage to the overall presentation of Acts. This is because this passage provides insights about the archaeological history and the other historical events which had taken place during the time of existence of Apostle Paul. The culture of praying in the synagogue had been present and this culture can be explored thoroughly by researching about this passage. This passage provides the ways in which Paul and another individual had been doing the work of God by evangelizing and spreading the good news about Jesus Christ being the Messiah.
